Privacy Policy
Short version: this site collects nothing. The long version below says exactly what is stored where, and why.
Nothing, passively.
This is a static personal website. It runs no analytics, sets no advertising or tracking cookies, includes no third-party trackers, and builds no visitor profiles. There is no account system and no database of visitors.
Local storage
The site stores a small number of preferences in your browser's local storage. These stay on your device, are never transmitted, and can be cleared like any site data:
- kx-theme
- Remembers your light/dark choice
- kx-consent
- Remembers your cookie-banner choice and its date
- kx-checklist-build-order
- Progress in the Why This Website checklist, if you use it
The contact form
When you send the contact form, your name, email address, topic and message are emailed to Fabrice so he can reply, and a confirmation copy is emailed to you. The site keeps no copy of the message. To limit abuse, a one-way fingerprint of your network address is held for 15 minutes, then discarded. Messages are used solely to reply, never for lists or profiling.
External links
Links to ORCID, LinkedIn, ResearchGate and publishers (including DOI links) lead to services with their own privacy practices; this site does not share anything with them beyond the fact of following a link.
Your control
Because the site collects nothing passively, there is nothing to access, export or delete. Clearing your browser's site data removes every preference listed above.
Changes
If this policy ever changes — for example if a measurable, consented feature is added — the change and its date will be stated on this page first. Questions go through the contact page.
